Purpose of the Association

The Association "La vita è un dono" (Life is a gift) has the purpose to promote and to support the study of therapies and treatments for the people affected by Propionic Acidemia.

 

The Association as well has the purpose of supporting the families of the persons affected by Propionic Acidemia.

Davide,

with his simplicity,

identified himself with an oak tree:

he had deep values

like the roots of this tree,

and this gave him

much strength and wisdom.

 

In detail the Association, together with other International Associations (se the link page for details), dealing with research of treatments for Propionic Acidemia, wants to fund experimental Master Thesis in Biology (or other related science courses) to develop the knowledge of the following issues:

·        Istantaneous measure of propionic acid concentration in blood and urine

·        Cell metabolism details of branch chained aminoacids.

·        Cell membranes behaviour in presence of propionic acid

·        Development of buffer solutions to contrast propionic acid accumulation in blood
